This session explores the need for anti-racist training at the leadership levels and how such training can create cultural competence within a recovery-focused organization. As part of this presentation Shari will explain how leaders have a unique position and power to raise awareness, continue education, create braver spaces and, most importantly, take real risks to dismantle the-isms. Shari will offer data that supports why SAMHSA calls for cultural competence within recovery organizations. Shari will also explore how anti-racist training attracts more diverse populations and positively impacts revenue for an organization.
