Founded in 1976, Freedom Institute, with its telehealth program Veritus exclusively for health care workers and lawyers, is a non-profit, New York State OASAS licensed, medically supervised, outpatient treatment and recovery center located in New York City. We offer highly personalized and comprehensive care to individuals and families affected by substance abuse and alcoholism. Our clinical services focus on young adults and adults. Freedom Institute is an abstinence-based program and our model is dedicated to long-term sobriety and wellness for the whole family. We provide service both in person and via telehealth.
Unique to Freedom Institute is our collaborative approach and the collective expertise we dedicate to each client. We offer a sophisticated, evidence-based therapeutic model that incorporates Family Systems work whenever possible. Our staff is a multidisciplinary team of experienced and skilled clinicians with advanced degrees in clinical disciplines and trained in a wide variety of innovative treatment modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), EMDR, and Psychodrama.
Our services are tailored to meet the needs of each age group and stage of life, and include a social-emotional wellness and prevention program, providing assessment and early-intervention in NYC independent schools; adolescent treatment services; a highly-structured Intensive Outpatient Program for young adults and adults; treatment for professionals; a well-established family program; and problem gambling services; and Freedom Intensive Treatment Team (FITT), which offers facilitated case conferencing for allied community providers to share different perspectives on a common case for the cross-pollination of ideas and better treatment for clients and their families.
We are a non-profit addiction outpatient center devoted to prevent and treat substance abuse and addiction. To offer personalized and confidential counsel and care to individuals and families to ensure that the whole family achieves long term recovery and wellness. To ensure all family members receive the support they need to connect, communicate and achieve fulfilling lives free from the shadow of addiction.
