About This Organization:

Conveniently located in Racine, Wisconsin, Racine Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is a leading provider of outpatient treatment for adults age 18 and older who are battling addictions to opioids. Using medication-assisted treatment (MAT), our team strives to provide well-rounded, evidence-based treatment that gives patients the best chance at achieving recovery. Medication-assisted treatment is a type of opioid addiction treatment that combines the use of prescription medication with counseling services. Decades of research supports the effectiveness of MAT, and highly respected organizations like the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) recommend it as an optimal choice for treating people who have opioid addictions. The prescription medications used in MAT are approved by the FDA and work by helping to alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal while also preventing ongoing cravings for opioids. At Racine CTC, we can provide prescriptions for multiple medications, including methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone, and naltrexone. Before beginning treatment, each patient takes part in an assessment where our team gathers information about the state of their health, current and past drug use, and other factors that could positively or negatively impact their treatment process. The results of this assessment will help our team determine which specific medication may be most beneficial for each patient. In addition to prescribing and monitoring the effects of medication, the staff at Racine CTC also provides individual and group counseling sessions. Group counseling offers patients the unique opportunity to meet with other people who are also struggling with opioid addictions. In this setting, they can begin to build a support network of individuals who may understand the challenges they’re facing. Battling an addiction often makes people feel isolated, but by participating in group therapy, that sense of isolation can be lifted, and they can learn that they are not alone. In individual counseling, patients can meet one-on-one with a qualified team member. During these sessions, patients can talk through their experiences, discuss any setbacks they may be experiencing or may be scared of, celebrate the progress they’re making, and work on developing coping skills that may help prevent future relapse.
