Located in Alexandria, Louisiana, Longleaf Hospital is a nationally recognized treatment center for adolescents and adults who are experiencing symptoms of mental health concerns and addictions. Our goal is to create an individualized treatment plan based on a comprehensive and ongoing evaluation of your unique needs. Longleaf serves adolescents ages 11-17 at its acute inpatient treatment center. We consider patients’ developmental stages and needs so that we can provide customized treatment that can support lasting health. Patients in this program may participate in individual, group, family, and recreational therapies as they learn healthy coping skills and ways to express their thoughts and feelings. The role of family support in treatment is crucial, so we welcome daily visits from loved ones. We also provide ongoing education about health concerns and progress updates. For adults age 18 and older, Longleaf offers inpatient treatment for mental health and addiction concerns as well as detoxification services. We also offer outpatient treatment through our intensive outpatient program (IOP). Adult patients can take advantage of multiple forms of therapy, including process groups, goal-setting groups, educational groups, activity groups, and family therapy as needed. Patients of all ages who require medication can meet with qualified staff to receive medication management services. We welcome active-duty military, active reserve, and retired military personnel as well as active-duty dependents to Longleaf Hospital’s Forgiving Losses and Gaining Strength (FLAGS) program. This comprehensive treatment program aims to support the unique needs of the military community. Participants in the program can learn to manage the stresses that may accompany military life, including combat stress, family separation, exposure to trauma, and grief or loss.
