About This Organization:

Williamson Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is a premier provider of outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Conveniently located in Williamson, West Virginia, Williamson CTC offers care for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions to opioids like prescription painkillers and heroin. Medication-assisted treatment is a form of opioid addiction treatment that combines the use of prescription medication and therapy. MAT has decades of research supporting its effectiveness, and organizations like the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) recommend it as being one of the most optimal choices for treating individuals who are working to overcome opioid addictions. Some methadone clinics are only able to offer one type of prescription medication, but at Williamson CTC, we can provide prescriptions for multiple medications, including Suboxone, naltrexone, and buprenorphine in addition to methadone. These medications have all been approved by the FDA for use in opioid treatment programs when administered and monitored by qualified and trained professionals. They help people manage the physical effects of opioid use by easing the uncomfortable symptoms of withdrawal and preventing ongoing cravings. The specific medication that a patient is prescribed is determined based on their individual needs and the state of their health. The team at Williamson CTC also offers group and individual therapy. Group therapy gives patients a chance to meet with other people who are struggling with addictions. Here, they can give and receive support to and from people who may be able to relate to what they’re going through. In addition to receiving encouragement from their peers, this can also be a time for patients to come to realize that they are not alone. In individual therapy, patients meet one-on-one with one of our team members in a confidential setting. In these sessions, patients have the opportunity to talk through the experiences they’ve had, address any underlying causes that may have led to their drug use, identify potential triggers and ways to avoid them, and learn and practice coping mechanisms that can help prevent relapse. Our team is dedicated to providing a well-rounded approach to care that helps our patients feel confident in their ability to overcome their struggles with addiction. Please contact us today for more information.
