Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry Accredited
Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is a leading provider of inpatient and outpatient programming for adults and seniors who are experiencing symptoms of mental health and co-occurring addiction concerns. Located in Columbus, Ohio, our services include crisis stabilization, medication management, group therapy, case management, and round-the-clock nursing care in a private and peaceful environment. We offer multiple treatment units to address our patients’ varying needs. Our Generations program offers age-appropriate treatment for senior adults. In this program, you may receive medication management and detoxification services as needed, individual and group therapies, and family education and counseling. Generations also specializes in treatment for seniors who have symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Patients typically stay in Generations for seven to 14 days, but your specific length of stay will depend on a co-created individualized treatment plan. In our Adult Behavioral Unit, which also includes an Intensive Care Unit, patients may receive help for behavioral health concerns such as aggression, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), self-harm, suicidal ideation, depression, psychosis, and schizophrenia. Patients who have co-occurring addiction concerns may choose to receive care from our Dual Diagnosis Unit, which uses an interdisciplinary approach to holistic healthcare. Individualized inpatient treatment may include rehabilitation therapy, individual and family therapies, group therapy related to healthy coping skills, and therapeutic activities such as arts and crafts, games, yoga, meditation, and aromatherapy. Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is also pleased to offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for patients who require step-down mental health support. Outpatient treatment may involve individual, group, and family therapy sessions that focus on topics such as depression, anxiety, and stress management. Additionally, we are especially proud of the case management services available through our community psychiatric supportive treatment (CPST) program. The CPST team offers ongoing assessments, advocacy, support, referrals, and crisis intervention in various community and home locations.
Providing comprehensive behavioral health services to improve the quality of life for our patients and their families.
