A Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Through Accessibility

NAATP wants to provide accessibility to all. We believe in aiding more people with the critical information and resources on our website with the tool called Recite Me, an innovative accessibility and language toolbar to make the information on our website easily available and inclusive to allow users to customize our website in the way that works for them. This new feature is an expression of our ongoing commitment to ensure access for all to treatment information and education.

Our Commitment

We believe everyone deserves an approachable way to obtain information about SUD treatment and resources. With this lens, we will continue to expand our programs and services to impact as many lives as possible and recovery for all.

Why should NAATP Members consider a website accessibility tool?

The NAATP website is a public resource for people seeking treatment and a gateway to our member’s treatment center websites. We encourage our NAATP members to join in this commitment and to consider integrating an accessibility tool on their websites to allow for an inclusive experience for families and individuals seeking treatment and navigating the process of finding quality treatment.

Why does NAATP include accessibility features on our website?

For people with varying visual abilities, non-English speakers, and people who have difficulty reading text on a screen, Recite Me will help you access, view, and use our web pages in a way that works best for you. The Recite Me toolbar allows every visitor to NAATP’s website access to the information and resources they are looking for and goes beyond Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act’s Website Accessibility Best Practices. The comprehensive Recite Me toolbar works across all devices and offers a unique range of functions ensuring that our work is accessible to all. You can use it to:

  • Read website text aloud (including PDFs)
  • Translate text into more than 100 different languages
  • Change font sizes and colors
  • Customize background-color
  • Access a fully integrated dictionary and thesaurus
  • Download the text as an MP3 file to play it where and when it suits you
