About This Organization:

Spirit Mountain Recovery’s inpatient program for men is located in Eden, Utah. Just 60 miles East of Salt Lake City on a beautifully remote mountainside in the Wasatch Mountains. This intimate setting in nature, on the edge of the wilderness, holds eight beds, a 2:1 staff to client ratio, top rated Chef, and complete with our therapy dog, Chip.

In our Eden location we offer individual therapy, group therapy, and experiential therapy such as equine therapy, hiking, fishing, skiing, paddle boarding. This facility also offers an intensive outpatient program, private drug detox, family counseling, relapse prevention, and personalized aftercare plan.

Spirit Mountain Recovery’s purposefully smaller, more intimate, 8-Bed Residential Treatment Center for Adult Men only is located on the side of a mountain in a beautiful valley just east of Ogden, Utah. Situated at the edge of the wilderness, Spirit Mountain Recovery makes full use of the recuperative powers of nature. Like breathing fresh mountain valley air while gazing upon the majestic 9,500 foot mountains, gently flowing rivers, and prairie grasses that surround our inpatient treatment residence. Our clients frequently say that they feel more at home and comfortable with the recovery process at Spirit Mountain than at other treatment centers.

A Comprehensive Set of Interrelated Treatment Programs

Unique to Spirit Mountain Recovery is its Dual Diagnosis treatment capabilities – not only does its medical and clinical staff assess, diagnose and treat a variety of Substance Use Disorders, but also Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders that may be triggering an individual’s substance abuse.
State-of-the-Art Evidence-Based Medical and Clinical treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Trauma -Informed Care (TIC).
Mindfulness-Based Recovery regimens such as Meditation, Yoga and Focused Breathing.
A wide variety of fun outdoor experiential activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, pickleball, golf, snowboarding, skiing, ice skating, basketball and bowling.
Spirit Mountain’s Residential Treatment Center has a fully-stocked weight room, elliptical bike, treadmill, corner gym and rowing machine available at anytime.

A Full-time Executive Chef

This unique feature of our residential treatment program assures that all clients will have access to the highest level of nutritional food and beverage service so critically important in early recovery. Our Chef also teaches cooking skills which helps clients to be more self-sufficient upon leaving Spirit Mountain.

Our principal mission at Spirit Mountain Recovery is to assess, diagnose and treat a wide variety of drug and alcohol addictions and to the extent possible any co-occurring mental health disorders that appear to be acerbating or triggering a client’s dysfunctional behavior. The resultant medical, clinical, and unique experiential treatment programs are recovery regimens that we craft for each client are focused on their specific needs and performed to the greatest extent possible outdoors in nature.
