TPAS celebrates 10 years!

Celebrating its 10th year of operation, Treatment Professionals in Alumni Services (TPAS) is a unique organization that brings alumni program leadership together to share ideas to support people in recovery once they leave a treatment program. Before the COVID pandemic, TPAS conducted virtual workshops and in-person collaboratives, now they have shifted to virtual events only in a move that has greatly expanded the reach of the organization. In the last six months, TPAS membership has dramatically increased and the recent three-day virtual collaborative drew the highest number of attendees in TPAS history.

“While alumni professionals are very engaged with those they serve, they can sometimes feel isolated from others who are doing the same work,” said Michael Maassel, TPAS national board of directors co-president. “During our collaboratives everyone is exploding with new ideas and the passion for the work is off the charts.”

TPAS has six major themes of topics that are addressed:

  • Alumni Curriculum
  • Skills and Process
  • Event Management
  • Communications and Relationship Building
  • Outcomes and ROI
  • Tools and Technology

“Program leaders better understand the role of the alumni program in their continuum of care and its contributions to outcomes, census, and perceptions of recovery in the community,” added Kevin Zundl, TPAS national board of directors co-president. “TPAS helps provide the resources and education to expand the skill sets to accomplish these goals.”
