Answering the Call: The NAATP Foundation for Recovery Science and Education

To increase access to care with equity for the growing population of people needing addiction services, and to improve recovery outcomes for our patients, the behavioral healthcare system requires radical collaboration. This session will explore both collaborative care and collaborative science, inviting care providers into cooperative efforts to work across disciplines and across agencies toward the common goal of improving the lives of people with substance use disorders.

Annie Peters, PhD, LP, is NAATP’s Director of Research & Education and the Executive Director of FoRSE. Annie possesses a rare combination of scientific acumen, clinical experience, and a core understanding of the disease of SUD. She leads the national effort to further understand this disease through scientific research and create treatment solutions for those who suffer from it. Dr. Peters earned her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and was formerly the CCO of Harmony Foundation. Her clinical interests include integrated care for individuals with addiction and co-occurring disorders, and mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies.

Jamie Vinck is the CEO of Recovery Ways, and was previously CEO of the Sierra Tucson Group, where she introduced groundbreaking outcomes measurement and recovery programs that earned Sierra Tucson top recognition within and outside of the industry. She was named one of Arizona’s Most Influential Women by AZ Business Magazine. Jaime is often sought to speak on marijuana and addiction treatment at the Parliamentary Committee Meeting at the House of Commons in London. Jaime serves on the Board of Directors of NAATP and was appointed to the Collaborative Advancement of Recovery Excellence (C.A.R.E.) Advisory Board.
