The U.S. House of Representatives passed the 21st Century Cures Act with strong and bipartisan support. The Cures Act provides key measures to improve our country’s response to addiction. It includes $1 billion dollars in grants for states to address the opioid epidemic and to implement the framework of the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) through treatment, prevention, and criminal justice reform.
The Senate is expected to vote on the Act early the week of December 5th, 2016. Please contact your Senators and encourage them to support the 21st Century Cures Act.
