Southcoast Behavioral Health Hospital Accredited
Southcoast Behavioral Health is a leading provider of treatment for adolescents and adults who are experiencing symptoms of mental health concerns and co-occurring addictions. Our serene and picturesque campus is located along the coast of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, easily accessible from Cape Cod, Boston, and Rhode Island. Mental health concerns that we treat include depression, anxiety, self-harm, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, adjustment disorder, and aggression. Our highly trained team of professionals provide effective treatment in an environment that fosters dignity and respect. The team includes board-certified psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, registered nurses, activity therapists, case managers, and mental health technicians. They work attentively with each patient to create an individualized plan of care that supports the patient’s unique needs and treatment goals. At Southcoast Behavioral Health, we understand the difference developmentally sound programs can make in the recovery journey and cater to patients at all stages of life by providing three separate age-appropriate inpatient programs. Our adolescent inpatient program accepts teens ages 13–17, our adult inpatient program accepts adults age 18 and older, and our senior treatment program provides specialized services to patients age 55 and older. For patients who are battling co-occurring addictions, we offer a dual diagnosis program. The average length of stay in our programs is five to seven days; however, the actual length of stay will be determined by our treatment team based on ongoing patient evaluations. The services we offer are dependent on the program track and specific needs of each patient and can include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and medication management services. Southcoast Behavioral Health specializes in a variety of treatment modalities that promote a positive mind-body connection, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, reminiscence therapy, and activity therapy. For patients who are struggling with a co-occurring substance abuse concern, we also offer non-medical detoxification services. We invite family members to be a part the treatment process at Southcoast Behavioral Health through our personalized family sessions, which are designed to empower them to continue providing support even after their loved ones leave our campus. We know that the healing process for one individual can involve the support of many, and we value the important role family members can play in their loved one’s recovery journey.
