Yesterday the President’s Commission issued its final report to the Administration. A preliminary report was submitted several weeks earlier.

Administration Seeks to Change Ten Essential Benefits Including Substance Use Disorder

In a surprise move, the Trump Administration announced proposed changes in how states may comply with the “ten essential benefits” requirement contained in the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

President Declares Public Health Emergency

Today President Trump declared the opioid crisis a national public health emergency.  The President’s Commission on Addiction and the Opioid Crisis recommended that he declare a national emergency. Instead, the President chose to issue the public health emergency declaration.

Good, honest recovery centers are trying to escape the stigma caused by bad apples in the recovery industry. I compare it to escaping Alcatraz.
