This follow-up webinar expands on the NAATP Conference session: From Stigma to Solutions: Advancing Equity and Inclusivity in SUD Treatment. In this webinar, the presenter will provide and elaborate on concrete solutions that leaders can implement to improve care and dismantle harmful institutional practices in substance use treatment. This session will provide treatment center leaders, clinical supervisors, and direct-care practitioners with an actionable framework that integrates organizational change with sustainable interventions for common system challenges. Dr. Gabrielle Jones will return to elaborate on her Culturally Responsive Substance Use Treatment (CRST) system-rooted framework, demonstrating how it integrates organization-wide policy, staff education, and direct clinical practice to achieve cultural responsiveness comprehensively. Attendees will walk away with specific tools for workforce training, organizational accountability, and transforming clinical care to ensure all patients and staff feel valued, understood, and supported.

Gabrielle Jones, Ph.D., is an award-winning licensed psychologist and the CEO and founder of Steady Clinical Consultation, Training, and Development Services. She founded Steady to improve substance use treatment for historically marginalized populations at the system level and to provide consultation and coaching to leadership and executives who are committed to embedding cultural responsiveness in their workplace and for their workforce. Her expertise is in substance use treatment for youth and adults and embedding high quality comprehensive care at the system level. She provides trainings and content expertise to non-profit organizations related to substance use and cultural responsiveness in the context of mental health treatment, and consultation to individuals working with populations listed above. In addition to Dr. Jones’s consultations and trainings, she is active in non-profit board leadership, serving as Vice Chair for The Miles Hall Foundation; an organization committed to creating an alternative to calling the police during a mental health crisis, and board member for the Commission on Specialties and Subspecialties in Professional Psychology of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Jones’ book, “Culturally Responsive Substance Use Treatment: A Guide for Practitioners, Students, and Organizations,” introduced the first-of-its-kind framework for how to understand AND deliver culturally responsive substance use treatment. Dr. Jones’ has been recognized for her work from the American Society of Addiction Medicine, receiving the 2024 ASAM DEI Award. She brings practical, strategic, and digestible tools to the work of eliminating substance use stigma and improving mental health treatment.
