Family resilience is about more than hanging in there through tough times. Research shows that families can turn stress and adversity into a springboard for rebounding from the challenges life continues to bring. Join Anna Bohlinger, PhD, LMFT, clinical manager of the partial hospitalization program at Children’s Minnesota, to explore the ABC-X model of family stress and the theory of family resilience. Then put theory to practice by applying the family resilience model to a case study. Objectives -Describe the intersection of family stress and family resilience models. -Apply the theory of family resilience to a case study. -Identify how tolerance for ambiguity and systemic resilience can improve outcomes for multi-stressed families. *1 CE credit eligible for live virtual attendees - Attendance tracked via online reporting or sign in. Those attending full training will receive an email with test and evaluation within a couple days post event. Dr. Anna Bohlinger, PhD, LMFT
As a licensed marriage and family therapist, Bohlinger’s clinical work has focused on providing mental health services to families experiencing multiple stressors, including out-of-home placement, suicidality or self-injury, and trauma. Her doctoral research and teaching focus on adolescent self-injury, comorbidity and family resilience. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters on adolescent mental health and training mental health therapists.
