The White House announcement on its new efforts to address Rx drug abuse reminded us all about the extensive toll this crisis has taken on this country. For example, more Americans now die from drug overdoses (the majority from Rx drugs) than from motor vehicle accidents.

NAATP Staff are in Fort Lauderdale this week prepping for the 2016 National Leadership Conference in May. The conference program is set and registration will open in a few days!

I am pleased to share a special year-end letter from NAATP with you. As 2015 draws to a  close, please take a few minutes to open and read the letter from the NAATP Staff and  Board of Directors. 

Since the founding of NAATP in 1978 by a handful of pioneering treatment centers, NAATP has worked to provide the addiction service industry, and our industry leadership in particular, with a forum in which to come together, share best practices, and evolve in order to provide the best possible service to those who suffer from addiction.

As NAATP's 37th year draws to a close, we thank you for your support of our industry and of the individuals suffering and recovering from the disease of addiction.

NAATP staff is pictured above with the research and design team from Design Room Creative (dR). dR is conducting the NAATP rebranding project.  They will be present to launch the new NAATP brand and share branding strategy with NAATP members at the 2016 Leadership Conference.

NAATP responds to recent press coverage on the use of Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) by stressing the importance of integrating multiple systems of care including MAT, bio-psycho-social, and 12-Step care.

Today, the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) released its new ASAM National Practice Guideline for the Use of Medications in the Treatment of Addiction Involving Opioid Use.
