As the nation observes National Recovery Month, NAATP is proud to spotlight a new resource from Board Vice Chair Jaime Vinck, MC, LPC, President of Meadows Behavioral Healthcare. Her new book, The Rehab Playbook, provides families and individuals with a clear and compassionate guide to navigating the often intimidating journey into addiction treatment.
Vinck draws on more than two decades of leadership and clinical experience to take readers behind the curtain of what really happens in treatment. The book is part practical handbook, part expert insight, and part personal perspective. Readers will find concrete tools to overcome barriers such as insurance hurdles, fear of stigma, and uncertainty about what to expect inside a program. Interactive exercises and sections written specifically for family members make it a uniquely hands-on guide.
This publication arrives at an especially important moment during National Recovery Month, which promotes awareness, celebrates recovery, and reduces stigma. Vinck reminds us that fewer than one in ten people who need treatment actually receive it. She offers a message of hope that recovery is possible and that access to the right care can be lifesaving.
Respected leaders in the field, including Dr. Patrick Carnes and Dr. Claudia Black, have praised the book as both a roadmap and a source of encouragement. A portion of proceeds from The Rehab Playbook will also support the American Addiction Research Foundation and the Addiction Research Institute, extending its impact beyond the page. The Rehab Playbook is now available nationwide through Amazon, Target, Barnes & Noble, and other retailers.
