About This Organization:

Harbor Hall is located in Petoskey, Michigan, a city in the northwestern lower peninsula of Michigan, overlooking Little Traverse Bay. Petoskey is situated in Emmet County, a rural community of about 32,694 permanent residents. In the summer, the population increases with tourists from around the world.

The local population is Caucasian in the majority. Native Americans (Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians) are prominently represented. There is a sparse mixture of African American and Hispanics. In-service training's regarding cultural issues in treatment and age- and gender-specific issues are provided by the Clinical Director. Additionally, counselors are provided training opportunities to enhance cultural competencies.

Harbor Hall’s treatment is designed for clients to learn to become responsible for their own actions. Our highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team focuses on client strengths through strength-based, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral and motivation driven approaches. If the individual remains honest, open and willing, the person will benefit by learning and putting into use tools and principles for living a drug and alcohol free lifestyle.

The treatment programs at Harbor Hall provides Sub-acute Detoxification and long term Residential Treatment for adult males, and outpatient services for male and female adults and adolescents in two locations (Petoskey and Cheboygan, Michigan) Sober Living Residences (Petoskey, MI). Harbor Hall provides a range of clinical services that encompasses the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM) levels of care. Harbor Hall’s Continuum of Care approach addresses substance use issues from prevention perspectives to early intervention and outpatient programs to variable lengths of stay in residential treatment.

Persons served typically come from the northern 30 counties of the lower peninsula of Michigan. With the implementation of the Pre-paid Inpatient Health Plans (PIHP’s) it is expected that the Harbor Hall reach will extend many more counties. Harbor Hall also accepts referrals throughout all of Michigan and out of-state.
