Rosecrance Behavioral Health, a nonprofit substance use disorder (SUD) provider, has acquired Ascend CHC, expanding its Rosecrance Therapies services to include eating disorder treatment and sports/performance counseling. Now operating as “Rosecrance Ascend,” the acquisition adds a small number of staff but several hundred new clients.
CEO Dave Gomel sees this as part of broader growth, with the company expanding 63% over the past six years. The move addresses rising demand for eating disorder care, which often overlaps with SUD. Rosecrance plans to train its clinicians in Ascend’s specialized methods and use the new offerings to deepen university partnerships and explore value-based care models. Despite industry challenges, Rosecrance remains financially strong, focused on reinvesting in its programs, and preparing for continued expansion, including a new Wisconsin location opening soon.
