Hanley Center at Origins has been certified by ASAM as a provider of Medically Monitored Intensive Inpatient Services

ORIGINS BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE is pleased to announce that Hanley Center at Origins has been certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) as a provider of Medically Monitored Intensive Inpatient Services.

ASAM’s certification is specifically designed to recognize programs that demonstrate the capacity to deliver evidence-based services consistent with established national guidelines for levels of care. Hanley Center was honored to be chosen for the first ever certification process, which was independently and comprehensively assessed by CARF International. The designation ensures that Hanley Center has in place the medical and clinical staff to treat complex cases with acute medical, emotional, behavioral, or cognitive problems.

Certification through ASAM — the addiction medicine professional society representing over 6,000 physicians, clinicians, and associated professionals — marks a significant step forward within the addiction treatment industry, which has long struggled to establish consistent standards nationwide.

“As a nation struggling with the unimaginable toll of tens of thousands of deaths from drug overdose every year, this is a critical step in mobilizing a true health care based solution to what is truly a health care problem,” said Origins’ Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. John Dyben, DHSc, MCAP, CMHP. “It is imperative that we treat addiction with the same level of rigorous care, research, and standards that we apply to all other chronic illness.”

Used by clinicians and payers across all care settings, The ASAM Criteria used for this certification will assist in appropriately placing patients in the right level of care based on severity and clinical needs. Officially referred to as ASAM Level 3.7, the Medically Monitored Intensive Inpatient Services distinction verifies that Hanley provides 24-hour nursing care and top-tier clinical and medical services for addiction. These residential services are not only capable of treating co-occurring conditions, but designed to offer a full range of care for those with co-occurring disorders. Hanley Center’s certification will be active for three years, after which time the program will continue to be rigorously evaluated by CARF International for further extension.

This certification marks Origins Behavioral HealthCare’s ongoing commitment to evidence-based behavioral medicine. To learn more about Hanley Center at Origins, visit https://www.originsrecovery.com/locations-staff/florida-hanley-center-origins/
