Groundwork is a limited-invitation pilot developed through This Side of Sober, a coach-led recovery support model created to provide facilitated group spaces for women in recovery.
The pilot evaluates whether virtual, coach-facilitated women’s recovery circles can support treatment environments by examining how participation unfolds over time, how the model functions alongside existing programming, and whether delivery is sustainable for facilities.
The 30-day pilot allows participating programs to observe how structured, non-clinical virtual group support operates during the spaces between therapy sessions and formal treatment activities, where many clients continue processing independently.
Groundwork is facilitated live by Shari Hampton, creator of Groundwork, an International Association of Professional Recovery Coaches (IAPRC)–certified recovery coach and SHE RECOVERS® Coach. Hampton brings prior experience facilitating virtual recovery groups at scale, including women-centered programming with Tempest and national virtual support groups serving thousands of members through Monument.
Delivered through weekly 60-minute virtual women’s circles, Groundwork is designed to sit alongside—rather than replace—clinical care, 12-step participation, or in-house curriculum. The groups offer a consistent space for reflection and emotional integration as clients navigate identity shifts in sobriety.
The pilot is intentionally designed to be discreet and low-lift for participating programs. No additional staffing, documentation, or clinical oversight is required.
At the conclusion of the pilot, participating programs receive a brief written summary outlining participation trends, group stability observations, scheduling fit, and operational considerations.
The Groundwork Pilot is offered virtually with national accessibility and is currently available through limited invitation to select treatment environments exploring new support options for women in recovery.
There is no cost to participate. All treatment centers are eligible and those interested can reach Shari Hampton at [email protected]
