The Chrysalis House Campus Expansion is Underway!

On Tuesday, September 28, Chrysalis House held a ceremonial groundbreaking for our Campus Expansion Project. The event was hosted by Chrysalis House Executive Director Chris McCabe; speakers included Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford, Chrysalis House Board President Dan Hoadley, Deputy Executive Director of Programs and Transitional Services Carressa Christian, and Chrysalis House client Tiffany H. Members of our project team also participated in the ceremony.

The Campus Expansion Project will add nearly 40% to our current capacity. The construction process is expected to take approximately one year, and will add 20 beds to our inpatient and transitional housing areas. It includes a dedicated Treatment Wing, which is supported by a grant from The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. The project will also expand our Child Development Center, kitchen, and dining areas.

Funds to support the project are being provided by the Maryland General Assembly, the state Departments of Housing and Community Development and Health, as well as the Anne Arundel County government and its Local Development Council. Chrysalis House has also received generous donations from individuals, families, and businesses.

This expansion will allow Chrysalis House to provide more women with the tools they need to achieve and maintain long-term sobriety. We are grateful for the support of the public and private donors!
