As behavioral healthcare providers across Colorado continue working to meet increasing demand for addiction and mental health services, Banyan Treatment Centers has appointed Scott Lister, RN, BSN, as Executive Director of Banyan Castle Rock.
Lister’s addition comes during a period of continued growth and expansion for the Colorado facility, which provides medically monitored detox, residential substance use treatment, residential mental health programming, and a virtual Telehealth Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) throughout the state of Colorado.
With a background that spans clinical care, operations, and executive leadership, Lister brings a broad perspective to the role. His career in behavioral healthcare has included leadership positions in nursing, program operations, sober living, and executive oversight across substance use and mental health treatment settings.
Prior to joining Banyan Castle Rock, Lister served as Chief Operating Officer for both Valiant Living and Acqua Colorado, where he helped oversee clinical operations, team management, and program development. His experience also includes direct work within treatment environments as a registered nurse and nursing leader.
According to Banyan leadership, Lister’s hands-on understanding of treatment operations and staff support made him a strong fit for the organization’s long-term goals in Colorado.
“Scott’s leadership style aligns closely with the culture we continue building at Banyan Castle Rock,” said Beau Lynch, Regional Executive Director of the West for Banyan Treatment Centers. “He understands the importance of supporting clinical teams while also maintaining operational structure and accountability. That balance is incredibly important in behavioral healthcare.”
Colorado continues to experience growing behavioral health challenges, including rising rates of mental illness and substance use disorders. As providers across the state work to improve access to care, Banyan Castle Rock has continued expanding services aimed at supporting both substance use and mental health treatment needs. By bringing Scott Lister on as Executive Director, Banyan aims to further strengthen its impact in Colorado by helping address gaps in behavioral healthcare access and supporting more individuals on their journey toward long-term recovery.
The facility incorporates evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches into treatment, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), individual therapy, family therapy, and weekly family support sessions. In addition to clinical services, patients have access to wellness-oriented programming such as yoga, weekly gym outings, psychoeducation groups, art and music activities, alumni support programming, and community-based recovery resources like NAMI.
Lister says his focus moving forward will center on strengthening both patient care and team support systems.
“The best treatment environments are built when staff feel supported, connected, and equipped to do their jobs well,” Lister said. “When that happens, patients receive better care and recovery outcomes improve.”
Banyan Castle Rock also offers a variety of recovery-focused amenities, including chef-prepared meals, community lounges, on-site mini golf, ADA-accessible accommodations, soda and coffee stations, and wellness services such as biofeedback therapy.
