NAATP is seeking a Communication Manager to advance the Assoication's communication platform and reach. The position is full-time, remote-based, with a competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Job Purpose: Advance the association’s communication approach through development of materials and partnerships utilizing communication tools to maximize reach, media coverage, and educational engagement. Grow NAATP’s effectiveness through the executive of a wide-range communication strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops content and directs creative execution to provide a consistent, targeted, and impactful message.
  • Builds and maintains solid partnerships (media, PR firm, committee, speakers, etc.) to better develop, coordinate, direct, and facilitate strategic communications designed to meet business goals.
  • Designs campaigns to target specific audiences.
  • Identifies opportunities for consistency in messaging and member experience across channels. 
  • Develops an understanding of short- and long-term communication goals and planned initiatives.
  • Works with leadership to create and adjust communications strategy.
  • Stays informed of developments in communications within the industry to foster ideas and innovation.
  • Identifies, recruits, and secures relevant speakers and authors.
  • Facilitates Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)-related projects, education, and alliances.

Skills:

  • Expert skills in copywriting, editing, and storytelling
  • Capability to work autonomously; is self-motivated; desire to take full ownership of projects
  • Well-developed organizational, planning, coordination, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Good verbal presentation, group dynamic, and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of the substance use disorder (SUD) and behavioral health care industry is a plus

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree journalism, communications, or equivalent
  • Minimum three years of experience in communications or marketing
  • Demonstrated experience in copyediting, content usage rights, and social media sites
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Mac systems, and web content management systems

Position Type: Full-Time Exempt

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Pay Range: Salaried. Salary Range $60,000 - $70,000 – Commensurate with experience.

Benefits: Fully paid health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), term life, short- and long- term disability coverage, 15 days of PTO, 14 observed holidays, 6 summer Fridays off, Simple IRA retirement match of 3%, monthly remote work stipend, wellness stipend, and flexible work schedule.

Location: Remote. We offer a flexible environment through work-from-home remote positions. Home location must be located within the US. The position includes moderate travel.

Working conditions: NAATP employs remote workers who must maintain a home office conducive to optimal work performance and free of distractions. Some projects may require staff to travel. All staff are required to work and be available during office hours depending on time zone location.

Physical requirements: Employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment.
