New Director Named at Office of National Drug Control Policy

New Director Named at Office of National Drug Control Policy

Congressman Tom Marino has been appointed by the Trump Administration as the new Director of The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). NAATP appreciates the Director’s interest in helping shape America’s drug control policy. We encourage the new director to support the recommendations of the President’s Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Opioid Crisis.

Of particular interest to NAATP, on behalf of our members, and those in need of treatment, is the recommendation that the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (Parity) be enforced. We strongly encourage implementation of that critical component of the strategy.

NAATP also supports increased access to treatment and encourages Director Marino to push for the elimination of the IMD exclusion for Medicaid patients as recommended by the President’s Commission.

The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers stands ready to support ONDCP and to work with Director Marino and his staff to address the many issues associated with Substance Use Disorders.

Thank you,
