Cultivating leadership in the area of addiction treatment is critical to growing programs, developing competitive advantage and quality care delivery. Addiction treatment traditionally has attracted a unique workforce that engenders many strengths that need to be intentionally embraced, nurtured and developed to enhance high quality treatment delivery and program stability. This session will focus on the central aspects of succession planning and leadership development in addiction treatment settings. Current and future leaders will learn skills and identify tools to support the development of the next generation of leaders in the addiction treatment industry.
Jay Voigt is the Director of Operations for CeDAR, A division of UCHealth. Jay has worked in the mental health and addictions fields since 2003. Jay earned an MBA in health care at the University of Colorado Denver in 2019 and he earned a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education from Pennsylvania State University in 2005. He is a licensed professional counselor and certified addictions counselor. His clinical interests include addiction treatment, trauma, attachment and co-occurring disorders. Jay’s organizational interests include leadership development, mentoring, and employee retention. He is responsible for the operations and program development of CeDAR’s Outpatient Clinic, CeDAR’s Outpatient Addiction Medicine Service, University of Colorado Hospital Outpatient Psychiatry clinic; as well as the supervision of the treatment teams.
