Join the Leadership Team of professionals at a nationally recognized treatment facility. Tully Hill Chemical Dependency Treatment Center, an established 50-bed inpatient rehab, detox and outpatient facility, is seeking an experienced Medical Director. Responsible for the direction, provision and quality of all medical services provided to patients seeking treatment for chemical dependency. Position reports to the Executive Director and is a valued member of the Leadership Team.
Will be responsible for developing and revising medical policies, procedures and training for routine medical care, specialized services and medical and psychiatric emergency care, and providing patient care in accordance with facility policy and in compliance with CARF standards, NYS OASAS regulations and other State and Federal regulations. Responsibilities include meeting with patients following admission, at discharge and as needed during treatment to provide medical care, writing admission notes, verification of orders, electronic prescription transmission, conducting or reviewing history and physical, ordering and reviewing psychiatric evaluations and reviewing lab results, writing discharge notes and summaries, screening and reporting of communicable diseases and infection, attending leadership team meetings, establishing and controlling departmental budget, and providing medical education for patients and their families.
Will also be responsible for working with utilization review staff to advocate with insurance payers for admission and continued length of stay as needed by providing solid medical documentation and conducting doc to doc calls. Position will require time spent on campus as well as 24x7 on call coverage.
Team oriented individual with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong computer skills required. Valid NYS Physician licensure and CPR certification required. ASAM Board Certification and Suboxone certification required upon hire. Minimum five (5) years of education, training and/or experience in chemical dependency treatment. Demonstrable knowledge of chemical dependency and 12-Step Philosophy required. Previous work experience and competency in an electronic medical record environment required.
