IOP - Substance Abuse Counselor

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Counselor will be responsible for:
• Individual and Group Counseling
• Developing comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, and referral coordination
• Documenting treatment progress, orientation, discharge, and related records
• Knowledge of substance abuse treatment strategies and understanding of twelve step recovery model
• Managing a number of priorities simultaneously
• Presenting Didactic Materials

Other Information/Requirements: 

Work schedule is MONDAY through THURSDAY from 10:00am to 9:30pm, with two 45-minute lunch breaks per day (10 hours per day/40 hour week full-time position.)
Minimum Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related mental health field
Licensure/Certification: Required LCAS
Minimum Experience: Two (2) years’ experience as an addictions counselor
Preferred Experience: Experience with the Matrix model; understanding and experience working with co-occurring disorders; electronic medical records.
