North Miami Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) offers premier outpatient treatment for people who are struggling with opioid addictions. Located in North Miami, Florida, we provide care for adults age 18 and older using medication-assisted treatment (MAT). MAT is an approach to opioid addiction treatment that combines the use of prescription medication with counseling services. MAT is backed by decades of research and is noted by respected organizations like the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) as being one of the most successful options in the treatment of opioid addiction. At our treatment center, patients can receive prescriptions for methadone, Suboxone, or buprenorphine. The specific medication that a person takes will be determined based on the results of a thorough evaluation they receive prior to beginning treatment. Suboxone, methadone, and buprenorphine are all FDA-approved medications and can help alleviate the distressing symptoms of withdrawal and prevent ongoing cravings. While medication can help to reduce the intensity of withdrawal symptoms and cravings, it is only one part of the comprehensive treatment offered at our facility. In order to achieve long-term recovery, patients need to be empowered to make lifestyle changes that can help prevent future relapse. One way in which patients can begin learning skill and strategies that can assist them in making lifestyle changes is through individual and group therapy. During individual counseling sessions, patients meet one-on-one with a qualified team member in a confidential setting. Here, they can discuss things such as the challenges they’re facing, potential triggers, and ways that they can cope with temptation in the future. In group sessions, patients have an opportunity to meet with peers who are also battling addictions to opioids. This gives them a chance to give and receive support and encouragement to and from one another, which can help decrease feelings of isolation and build a sense of community.
