Located in LaPlace, Louisiana, River Place Behavioral Health is a state-of-the-art facility where adolescents and adults can receive treatment for symptoms of mental health concerns. Our peaceful and private treatment center is just 20 minutes west of New Orleans and 40 minutes east of Baton Rouge. At River Place, we regularly monitor your progress so that we can tailor our services to suit your unique needs and goals for healing. Our levels of care include an adult inpatient program and intensive outpatient program (IOP) for people age 18 and older, as well as an adolescent inpatient program for young people ages 12-17. Our experienced and compassionate professionals offer treatment for mental health disorders such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and depression. Our evidence-based therapies can also address concerns such as aggression, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. We also provide comprehensive treatment, including detox services, for patients who have co-occurring addictions. As a core part of our programming, we offer group therapy, which can help you build a sense of community while you take care of your mind, body, and spirit. To prepare you for life after River Place, we may also lead you in exercises and discussions around topics such as coping skills, self-esteem building, life management, and daily living skills. You may also participate in individual therapy informed by several treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and the 12-Step model of recovery. To support patients’ comprehensive treatment needs, our nursing staff and other clinicians can offer medication management services as needed. Additionally, we have dietitians and pharmacists available, as well as recreational therapists who can lead you in healing movement and exercise.
