Bangor Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is a leading provider of outpatient opioid addiction treatment for adults age 18 and older. We offer a peaceful and welcoming environment in Bangor, Maine, taking advantage of Bangor’s wealth of community-based resources. When you arrive at Bangor CTC, our caring and compassionate staff will lead you through an intake process that includes a thorough medical and psychological assessment. Using the information we gather from your assessment, we will work closely with you to develop an individualized program that addresses your unique needs and recovery goals. That program will be centered around a form of therapy known as medication-assisted treatment (MAT). MAT combines medications with counseling to offer a highly effective treatment plan. Our expert medical professionals can prescribe medications such as methadone and Suboxone to help ease any withdrawal symptoms you may experience while at Bangor CTC. To help address the mental and behavioral aspects of addiction, our counselors lead individual and group therapy sessions. When you meet with a counselor one-on-one, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss confidential thoughts and feelings in a safe space. In group therapy, you may engage in valuable conversations with others who understand your recovery journey. Bangor CTC is proud to provide MAT, which is recommended by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) as the most effective form of treatment for opioid addiction.
