We will begin our work together before you arrive, creating an individualized treatment plan based on a comprehensive assessment. Pacific Grove treats mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), intermittent explosive disorder, schizophrenia, and suicidal ideation. Our qualified professionals also understand the painful effects of addiction, and we are ready to support you with medically monitored detoxification services and a variety of evidence-based therapies. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) often forms the basis for our individual therapy sessions, and group therapy sessions may cover various topics such as coping with emotions, relapse-prevention strategies, and problem-solving techniques. Family therapy is also an essential part of the care you can receive at Pacific Grove. Our therapeutic activities and services might also include art, yoga, ceramics, meditation, exercise, and recreational and expressive therapies. If you are stepping down from a higher level of care or require structured care in an outpatient setting, our partial hospitalization program (PHP) or intensive outpatient program (IOP) may be a good fit. We offer our PHP Monday through Friday, and the program typically lasts about two to four weeks depending on individual client needs. Clients in our IOP may meet for activities such as daily process groups, exercise groups, educational groups, and individual therapy. We are pleased to offer medication management services to clients who may be taking medication during their stays with us. Pacific Grove Hospital supports military personnel, firefighters, first responders, healthcare workers, and other community providers who may experience exposure to trauma in their line of work. Our Trauma-Exposed Professionals Program incorporates cognitive processing therapy (CPT) to help you identify obstacles on your road to recovery. This program may also include interventions such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), sleep hygiene training, coping skills development, guided imagery, and physical therapy.
