Harbor Oaks Hospital, located just north of Detroit in New Baltimore, Michigan, is a leading mental health hospital and addiction treatment center. We offer inpatient treatment for children and adolescents ages 4-17 who are experiencing symptoms of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and learning disorders. Some children may also be facing a developmental disability, so we have created a specialized inpatient treatment program to address those concerns. Harbor Oaks Hospital employs qualified teachers who will ensure each child’s educational needs are met during their stay, and our on-site internist is available to care for any medical needs. Adults ages 18-54 may receive round-the-clock care at our inpatient treatment center. Our therapies are designed to help people who are struggling with mental health disorders and addictions. In addition to group and individual therapy, adult patients may engage in skill-building activities, family meetings, and recreational therapy. Doctors can assist with medication management and other health concerns as needed. Medically monitored detox services are also available for adults who are struggling with addiction and need care as they go through the withdrawal process. Harbor Oaks uses The Hazelden Curriculum, a 12-Step model for recovery, as well as motivational interviewing to guide patients as they work toward their goal of sobriety. Additionally, Harbor Oaks Hospital is a leading provider of specialized care for adults age 55 and older who are experiencing symptoms of dementia and other cognitive concerns. Depending on a patient’s needs, they may participate in individual therapy, medication management, activity therapy, and group lessons that focus on hygiene, sleep, and health maintenance.
