Lynchburg Comprehensive Treatment Center Accredited
Lynchburg Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Lynchburg, Virginia, provides premier outpatient opioid addiction treatment for adults age 18 and older. We provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which is a type of treatment for opioid addiction that combines counseling with the use of prescription medication. MAT has been acknowledged by respected organizations like the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) as being one of the most effective treatment options for opioid addiction. Adults who participate in MAT at our center may receive a prescription for methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone, or naltrexone. Each person takes part in an assessment prior to admission, and the results of that assessment will help determine which medication may be best for them. These FDA-approved medications work to reduce the uncomfortable symptoms associated with opioid withdrawal, which can help people avoid relapse. In addition to prescribing and monitoring medication, we also offer individual and group therapy sessions. Individual counseling gives patients a chance to meet one-on-one with a trained professional, while group counseling offers an opportunity to meet with peers who may be facing similar challenges with addiction. Both types of counseling sessions can help patients learn and practice skills that they can use to cope with triggers, cravings, and other challenges that come with recovery.
