About This Organization:

Montecatini is a premier residential treatment center for women ages 16-55 who are experiencing symptoms of eating disorders and who may have co-occurring mental health and addiction concerns. Our facility is in Carlsbad, just three miles from the Pacific Coast in Southern California. At Montecatini, we honor the value and strength of each woman by providing a highly personalized, multidisciplinary treatment approach rooted in empathy and compassion. We offer a residential program in a comfortable, home-like environment in a peaceful neighborhood. Our clinical team leads groups focused on expressive arts, relapse prevention, body image, spirituality, nutrition counseling, and the 12-Step recovery model. You may also participate in recreational therapies such as yoga, gardening, clothes shopping, restaurant outings, and meal planning and preparation. While the usual length of stay at the residential level is 30-60 days, your specific length of stay will typically depend on our comprehensive, ongoing evaluation and individualized treatment plan. We also offer continuing care through our partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP). These programs allow you to participate in many of the same therapy experiences offered in residential care but with a schedule that gives you greater independence. Our PHP services are available Monday through Friday, and most women in our IOP attend treatment three to five days per week. Clients typically stay in the programs for 30-90 days, depending on their unique needs and goals. Montecatini’s highly qualified treatment team incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing as primary treatment modalities in our residential program. In addition, if you need assistance with medical needs or medication management, our doctors are available to support you. We also understand the importance of achieving a positive relationship with one’s body. Through our wellness program, our exercise physiologists can assess your posture and health habits, working with you to create a plan that can help you regain the joy of movement. At Montecatini, we believe in the powerful impact of sharing stories and experiencing community. We’ve partnered with the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders to offer several free support groups for clients, their families and caregivers, and alumni. We also invite alumni to return as guest speakers to educate and encourage the women in our program.

Mission Statement:

Montecatini’s mission is one of hope and long-term recovery. We believe treatment is a collaborative process and consider the patient an essential part of the treatment team. Our goal is to help our patients return to lives that are not only functional but joyful as well.
