Riverwoods Behavioral Health System is a leading provider of mental health and addiction treatment programs. At our comfortable, intimate facility in Riverdale, Georgia, we offer specialized inpatient, outpatient, dual diagnosis, and detox programs to support adolescents, adults, and seniors who are experiencing symptoms of behavioral health concerns and co-occurring disorders. Our acute adolescent inpatient program serves patients ages 10-17 with age-appropriate education and process groups around topics such as coping skills, creative expression, peer pressure, substance abuse, social skills, relationship development, and relapse prevention. Adolescents may receive their own workbooks as well as the opportunity to earn points that they can redeem for special rewards and extended privileges. Teens may also take part in valuable individual and family therapies, which can provide support as they prepare to transition back to their regular daily routines. For adults age 18 and older, including veterans who are part of the Community Care Network, Riverwoods offers an inpatient program for patients who have symptoms of mental health concerns, including depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We also provide an inpatient program that addresses addiction to substances such as alcohol, barbiturates, cocaine, and opioids. During group therapy, adult patients may have the opportunity to learn about and discuss concerns such as anger management, successful living skills, medication education, and spirituality. They may also participate in groups offering expressive and relaxation therapies. Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adults takes place at our on-campus recovery residence, Serenity Village, with day trips to 12-Step meetings, volunteer service opportunities, and recreational activities. This program runs seven days a week and includes medication management services. When you are ready to move to a lighter treatment schedule, our therapy-focused adult intensive outpatient program (IOP) is available, where we can arrange psychiatric support for medication management as needed. Riverwoods is pleased to provide a Supportive Care Unit for senior adults age 65 and older. Our caring staff is highly qualified to provide short-term crisis stabilization services and support for patients who are struggling with mobility and other everyday living concerns. For active-duty service members, we are proud to offer care through our comprehensive C.O.R.E. (challenge, overcome, restore, empower) programming. In C.O.R.E. you may participate in treatment modalities such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), and recreational therapy at our on-site gym. Finally, we offer virtual assessment, programming, and visitation through our telehealth system.
