Founded in 1962 by five members of Alcoholics Anonymous, the Bishop Gooden Home is the flagship house among several beautiful historic homes and cottages that make up The Gooden Center. Our facility in beautiful historic Pasadena, CA is more than a treatment program. The Gooden Center is a community of people dedicated to a single purpose: to help show the way out of the debilitating cycle of alcohol and drug dependency. We offer Residential, Day, and Intensive Outpatient levels of care as well as Sober Living. The continuum of care available allows us to take a willing patient from his first couple of days in recovery to a solid foundation by allowing him to transition smoothly through appropriate levels of care. It also allows us to be a complete Intensive Outpatient Program to help SAP and EAP referred patients fulfill their commitment to their employer or the courts. Each level of care is designed to meet the clinical needs of our patient while giving them a warm, homelike environment to develop a sober support network. The quality of care each client receives is a top priority. The Gooden Center is a State licensed and CARF accredited facility. We are also proud members of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) and the California Network of Behavioral Health Providers (CALNET). We understand that utilizing health plan benefits is the only way many people are able to cover the costs for chemical dependency treatment so The Gooden Center is contracted with over 25 major managed health plans that we can bill directly. We are committed to providing an extraordinary experience for every client and family. By combining ASAM criteria with client-centered care, each person moves through treatment at his own pace.
